As of mid-May 2026, I have made 4 sales on Ebay. Profit after subtracting fees and expenses was $67. Total number of Xbox controllers sold was 6 (one sale was a lot of 4). I have 2 listed for sale and another 5 that I haven’t listed yet. I’m trying to only list a controller after I have sold one. This makes it easier to manage. It seems like gaming is in a slump right now. Maybe it is because kids are still in school, or they have lost interest in gaming. It could also be that the current generation of gaming hardware has been around since 2020. Six years is a long time, especially if you bought your system in the year it was released. I find myself playing less often. I am currently playing Hogwarts Legacy and GreedFall. It took me a while to get into GreedFall, but now that I have better weapons and skills, The game is more fun to play. Hogwarts has several missions that have been a challenge. The boss fights and the timed broom courses will test your gaming skills.
I recently purchased an assortment of Zosi security cameras on ShopGoodwill.com. I wanted to add a couple cameras to my Night Owl system. The assortment included 5 cameras, a power supply, 4-60 Ft. cables, and misc. hardware. My plan was to add 2 cameras, 2 cables and the power supply to my system and sell the rest. When I connected the cameras to my system they all worked, except the image was black & white. The cameras have a color sensor and have 1080p resolution and have Digital Hybrid 4-in-1 video output supporting TVI, AHD, CVI, and 960H CVBS (Analog). In order to switch to AHD mode, I need a UTC controller to access the camera’s internal settings. I found an older controller on Ebay for $25, but I couldn’t find the manual and the controller is no longer listed on the manufacturer’s website. The only one that is still being made costs $29, which is more than I paid for the camera assortment.
You would only need a controller to change the video mode if you are connecting a camera to an older DVR or one of a different brand than the camera. So, the demand for UTC controllers is fairly limited, which is why they are hard to find. This could make selling the unused cameras difficult, when they only produce color on a Zosi system, or you need a UTC controller to change the video mode. I will be placing two of the cameras in locations that I don’t really need color, like in the garage, or under the deck. Maybe someday I will get a UTC controller if I find one at a reasonable price. I have already replaced the CPU fan on my Night Owl system twice and changed the HD from 1GB to 2GB. I don’t want to spend any more money on a system that many consider as entry level. But I have learned a lot about video surveillance systems as a result.
