2022 Wish List

Posted by

In 2021 I was able to acquire 2 of the 4 items on my 2021 wish list. In January I bought an Xbox One X with 3 games on Ebay for $255. In June I got an Asus i5-3450 desktop computer for $125 from Goodwill. Both were fair deals and are still working well. The storage racks and replacement windows are still on my list. Metro style metal racks are hard to find at a discount. Replacement windows are going to have to wait until I get a surprise cash windfall. I think I need to split my list into needed and wanted items. With the state of the economy lately, the wanted items won’t have much of a chance this year.

1. Battery Maintainer – I need to get a car battery maintainer because I have two vehicles sitting in my garage. With the price of gas, I will be driving much less. Budget: Under $40

2. Trailer Tires – I restored a 4×8 trailer a few years ago, but I’m afraid to use it because the tires are old. I need to find a set of tires to replace the old ones. I don’t want to buy new, but good used tires in the right size are hard to find. Budget: Under $60

3. Storage Racks – I need to find a couple used Metro style metal storage racks to organize the Ebay resale stock in my office. Right now, it looks like a room from a hoarder’s house. Budget: Under $120

4. Security Surveillance System – For a few years I’ve been researching security camera systems. There are so many models and camera specifications to choose from that I haven’t been able to pick one. Mainly, it boils down to wired or wireless. Budget: Under $160

5. Replacement Windows – When I see a 40% off window sale, the fine print always has a minimum purchase of 4 windows. My wood frames are deteriorating. I would need to replace 3 windows and a patio door to qualify for a discount. Budget: Under $3200

6. CNC Router – One of these would allow me to make marble boards and wood signs much faster. Making a marble board by hand takes many hours. The problem is that I’d have to sell about 60 marble boards, just to break even. Budget: Under $3000

7. World Peace – This one seems like a long shot this year. But if things don’t improve, the items on my list will all be replaced by “Find affordable food and gas”.
