There’s an old AC/DC blues song called “Ain’t No Fun” with lyrics that go like this… “And I got patches on the patches on my old blue jeans, well they used to be blue, when they used to be new, when they used to be clean.” Since being laid off, I’ve been wearing blue jeans a lot lately. The only problem is that I only had 2 pair and my size is hard to find at the thrift stores. Last week I did find another pair, but a few days later I ended up ripping a big hole in the knee when I was working out in the garden. I decided to try and patch the L-shaped rip with an iron-on patch. The patches they sell for jeans are pretty thin and the biggest complaint is that the glue doesn’t hold the patch in place for very long. That’s what happened after one washing. I ended up using a hot glue gun to repair the patch. Now I feel like I have patches on the patches of my old blue jeans! It ain’t no fun waiting around to be a millionaire.
