1. What are your qualifications?

In 1989 I started my programming and web design career working for computer manufacturing companies Cray Research, Silicon Graphics, and Celestica. During that time, I completed graphic design, web development, and small business courses at the local technical college. More recently I have been involved with audio and video production and hosting online seminars. I also have over 25 years experience upgrading, networking, and troubleshooting home computers.

2. Why should I have you do my web site?

Budget Homepage is all about saving you money. Since this is a home based business, we don't have large monthly office expenses to worry about. Work is completed on-time, to meet your specifications, using Macromedia and Adobe software.

3. Do you also make personal web sites?

Yes, if your content does not contain obscene or offensive material. Personal web sites do not usually require a designated URL and can be created and hosted for free on Yahoo, Tripod, or one of the other free hosting sites. We are focusing on small business owners who need someone to manage their site. But if you feel that you have something that we can help you with please let us know.

4. What if I want to maintain the site?

Most of our customers don't have the time or experience required to maintain a web site. So we provide that service. If you feel comfortable doing the maintenance yourself, we can give you access to your site. The charge will be same and we will provide phone support. If you need specific modifications on the site after you take control, we will quote the work at our hourly rate.

5. How much do you make from the ads?

It depends on the amount of traffic your site generates. Typically only about one percent of the visitors will click on the ads. It is a good way to add content to your site and it helps us lower your annual fee.

6. How do you start my web site?

After you contact us, we will arrange a meeting with you to discuss your needs. Then we will develop a proposal and present you with a preliminary web design. After you agree to the design concept, we will have you sign a contract and make the first annual payment. See our web design page for more details.

7. How long does it take before my web site is online?

Once we have agreed on the design, it will take between one and two weeks for us to complete your web site. Sites that require custom cgi programming will take longer.

8. What happens if I need something changed on my site?

Give us a call. We provide general site maintenance for one year. We will make minor changes to the original pages on your site at your request. If you sign up for one of our premium packages, we will make arrangements with you for more frequent updates.

9. What if I want to add more content to my web site?

Give us a call, we will be happy to discuss your ideas and give you a fair price for any additional work.

10. How soon will my site appear in search engines?

With millions of web sites out there, it can take from 3 to 6 months before your site appears on the major search engines. We use several different techniques to promote your site, but we can not guarantee instant results. But there are way you can help promote your site, like placing your site URL in all of your other promotional materials.
