Everyone has things that they want to buy that are what I would consider “luxury” purchases. Being on a tight budget makes it feel like everything (beyond standard living expenses), is an unobtainable luxury. Shopping for a good deal on auction websites can be frustrating, if you don’t want to pay more than you think the item is worth. If you include shipping, taxes, and auction fees, many times people end up paying too much for a used item. Many times, I’ve found good deals on Facebook Marketplace, but I was either too late making contact with the seller, or it was further than I wanted to drive to pick up the item. My list has items I could live without (for a while), but they would make life just a little bit more efficacious. So, without further ado, here is my list:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Updated Game Console – My XBox 360S won’t play XBox One games. I’m looking for an XBox One X to test the XBox One games that I acquire for resale. The One X will play most of my old 360 games and it has a 4K UHD Blu-ray player built in. Budget: Under $280<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Updated Computer – I’m looking for a used computer that has at least an i5 6400 processor, 16 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD, Windows 10, and a GTX 780 graphics card. My current computer is a P4 with 2GB of ram, 240 GB SSD, Windows XP, and a GeForce 6800 GS graphics card. Budget: Under $300<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Storage Racks – I need to find a couple used Metro style metal storage racks to organize the mountain of cardboard boxes and resale stock in my office. Right now it looks like a room from a hoarder’s house. Budget: Under $120<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. Replacement Windows – This is by far the most expensive item on the list. When I see a 40% off window sale, the fine print always has a minimum purchase of 4 windows. My wood frames are deteriorating. I would need to replace 3 windows and a patio door to qualify for a discount. Budget: Under $3200<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
